24/12/2005 - Christmas Eve
Last few days have been really busy, at least for my mum. A lot of her time was spent fitting chains on to mormor's ancient Volvo in order to get the car up the hill, not an easy thing to do if you have no experience of it and it's minus 15 degrees celsius, and the other day we had a massive snowfall which lead to hours of snow shovelling, not my mum's favourite activity. It's unfortunate that daddy didn't get here until yesterday since he actually enjoys shovelling snow (that weirdo!). But at least all this snow means that we can now celebrate a truly white Xmas. It really does look like a Xmas card outside, with snow covered trees. There's also been about 200 trips to the supermarket in order to get everything we need foodwise. Anyway, there's also been time for some cosy stuff like baking pepper cookies (traditional Norwegian Xmas cookies, not dissimilar to ginger bread men cookies) and decorating the Xmas tree yesterday.
My mum was so sure that me and the Xmas tree would not make a good combo, but I'm not that interested in the tree. I crawl straight past it every time...the before mentioned magazine rack is far more fun!
Daddy arrived yesterday morning and was kept busy ever since with last minute preparations, but today we can start relaxing and just take on the Xmas spirit. My mum made me watch the classic Disney cartoons (no Xmas without it!).

After dinner it was finally time to open the presents which had been lying under that tree the grown-ups for some strange reason had dragged into the house and decorated with baubles, lights...etc. I was given so many great gifts...toys, books, clothes and even jewellery. A big thanks to everyone who got me gifts! The first gift I got to unwrap myself...it was an amazingly cool activity centre from grandma and grandpa in London. It even talked and sang to me, and neither my parents or mormor could establish contact with me while I was mesmerised by this fantastic device!
