17/2/2006 - A week in Dublin
Last night I returned from Dublin. Mummy and I flew there on Thur last week to see daddy who's working there on a regular basis. This was quite exciting for both mummy and I since none of us had been to Ireland before. We stayed at the Central Hotel, right in the city centre, and had a big room with a huge bathroom where I got to splash around in the fab bath tub! But the problems started to mount up already at the baggage retrieval. My buggy never made it on the plane, so mum and I were stuck inside the hotel room all Friday afternoon.
In the evening we gave up on getting it any time soon so I got a new travel buggy - a bright orange Quinny Zapp! My regular buggy didn't make it there until 42 hours later, which is just disgraceful! Then, on Saturday morning, poor mummy wakes up with very bad food poisoning symptoms. We think it's due to some questionable tuna melt she had the day before.
She made a brave attempt to go sightseeing but only made it to a food market and the Photo Museum by the famous Temple Bar area, before she had to give up and go back to the hotel and straight to bed. On Sunday we went shopping on Grafton street, visited St. Stephen's Green park and my mum finally had her ears pierced.

We also went to see Dublin Castle, but only from the outside. Mum and I were supposed to fly back last Monday, but since mummy hadn't gotten any better, we decided to fly back with daddy on Thursday instead. Monday evening we met up with granddad Richard who's been working here too. He had to go back Tuesday though. Apart from short trips to the park and the mall and a Valentine's restaurant meal on Tuesday, I spent all my time in the hotel room since mummy wasn't feeling any better and I can't really make it out on my own yet. Have to come back here another time so I can see more of Dublin. Oh, and mummy finally got well the day after we came back, which is good for her, since all she has had to eat for 4 days are wine gums and coca cola!
